Your visit

What happens at your first appointment, how a treatment plan comes together, and how an implant replaces a missing tooth.

How a visit works

Four steps, and no surprises.

  1. Examination

We listen first, then examine your teeth and gums. Where needed we take X-rays and photographs to see what can't be seen in the mirror.

  2. A clear plan

Your dentist explains what we found, the options you have, how long each takes and what it costs, so you can decide calmly.

  3. Treatment

Treatment is carried out with local anaesthesia whenever it's needed, using modern equipment and strict sterilisation.

  4. Follow-up

We check how you're healing and set up regular check-ups, because the best way to keep a healthy smile is to stay ahead of problems.

Inside an implant

A new tooth, built from the root up.

  1. 01 / 05Jaw boneWe first check there's enough bone. If not, a bone graft or sinus lift can rebuild it.
  2. 02 / 05ImplantA small titanium post replaces the root. Its hydrophilic surface helps bone grow onto it.
  3. 03 / 05Conical connectionA precise, tight fit between parts that reduces the risk of bacteria getting in.
  4. 04 / 05AbutmentThe connector that rises through the gum and holds the new tooth in place.
  5. 05 / 05CrownA ceramic tooth shaped and shaded to match your own.

Implant treatment

From first visit to final crown.

  1. Visit 1

    Planning

Examination and X-rays to check the bone. If there isn't enough, it can be rebuilt first.

  2. Day of surgery

    Implant placed

Under local anaesthesia, the implant is placed in the jaw. Most people return to normal life the next day.

  3. ~3–6 months

    Bone heals

The bone grows onto the implant's surface and anchors it firmly. Your dentist may fit a temporary tooth.

  4. Final visit

    New tooth

The abutment and a crown made to match your other teeth are fitted. You bite, chew and smile as before.
